Council required the Westfield Group and consulting engineer Cardno to provide a flood protection component for the extensions to the Figtree shopping centre in Wollongong NSW.

The Flooding Solutions Advisory Group were commissioned by Westfield to supply a Floodgate Rapid Deployment Barrier system to protect the building.

By using Floodgate to seal building apertures such as entrances and internal walkways (instead of surrounding the structure with perimeter barriers), the loss of catchment flood storage will be minimised, which was a key condition of consent.
